about this band/release

Drは5440 Or Fight!

ISIS, MINUS THE BEAR, THESE ARMS ARE SNAKESなどの現行するニュースタイルヘビーロック/マスロックサウンドを融合させたかのような懐古するも革新的で斬新なサウンドタイプを確立。

Zirconium is the second album from Seattle band Patrol, completed in the latter part of 2008 with producer Matt Bayles (Minus the Bear, Mastodon, Isis) at Studio Litho and Red Room. The final outcome is an eight-track masterpiece clocking in at just around 60 minutes. Zirconium is being released by Stiff Slack in April 2009. There are plans to tour in support of this release both domestically and abroad.

Zirconium is this group’s most ambitious and best work to date. Singer and guitarist Doug Lorig (ex-Raft of Dead Monkeys, Roadside Monument) is the driving creative force alongside drummer Eric Junge (ex-The Building Press, Vermilion, currently The Transport Assembly), bassist Burke Eglington (ex-Akimbo, currently Spirit of Radio), and guitarist Skip King. With enough years between the four band members touring and releasing albums to span three decades, Patrol is excited as ever about this record. This latest release is destined to help them gain a higher level of exposure and allow them to continue expanding artistically.

2006 saw the debut release of Destinations (produced by Bayles) and laid the foundation for Patrol’s musical vision. Through avid self-promotion and an exclusive Japanese release on Stiff Slack, the album received international critical acclaim and steady local exposure through radio airplay on KEXP and 107.7 The End's Young and The Restless. Destinations also landed in the Top 10 Selling Local Albums of the year at Sonic Boom Records. With determination the group toured the Midwest and West Coast completely independently playing Venues like the Casbah in San Diego and Abbey Pub in Chicago.

Patrol has been fortunate enough to share the stage with some very talented bands: Life and Times, Karate, Dead Meadow, Helms Alee, Thrones, Sleeping People, Unwed Sailor, Since By Man, Akimbo, The Valley, Bronze Fawn, The Ruby Doe, Truly, Bacchus, Roy, The Cops, Schoolyard Heroes, The Abodox and many others.
